Jacklyn Barber is a photographer based in Guelph, Ontario, and is one of our favourite Canadian instagrammers. Her images are beautiful and convey a sense of nostalgia that often comes from a road trip through the Prairies. Her work encapsulates Canadiana.
"Having spent a lot of time as a child in Northern Ontario, I quickly gained an appreciation for the outdoors. I had a lot of freedom when it came to exploring there. One of the perks of being from a small town, is that it feels a lot like being part of a really big family. So, my folks felt comfortable sending me out the door on my own, just so long as I was home before dark. Thinking back, it seemed only natural for me to want to capture the things that I saw. Not just the beauty of the tall pines, passing trains and forgotten homes, but also the people that I had met. When I was in my early teens, I received what I considered to be my first "real" camera, which was quickly followed by my drivers license. These two things have given me the ability to both explore, and capture the stunning beauty that is our Canadian countryside."
