It started to snow a couple of weeks ago and we decided to head up to Jasper for the weekend. I haven't spent much time there before so I was pretty excited to get out there and hike around for a few days and experience a different part of the mountains. The photos below are from my 5D and iPhone 5S.
As expected, it was really windy and and really cold, but I kind of preferred that in a way, it makes for a bit more interesting of a trip. It also made for a good level of sketchiness when climbing out onto the ledge of the Athabasca Falls, down iced rocks into the canyons and climbing frozen waterfalls, but those are the things that make these kind of trips worth while.
I'm always impressed with how my camera holds up when it's covered in snow or going lens-first into a rock when I'm climbing something, but I think I'm okay with that part not happening very often. Despite only one visit to Subway, it was a great weekend out with some friends exploring the ice fields.
